Illustration Friday: Slither

EWW SNAILS!  My aunt told me a story once about how when she was a little girl she picked up a snail and ate it…it was either a snail or a slug…either way GROSS!  I used to put salt on them, yeah kind of cruel, but I also used to put doll clothes on my cats.  Anyways I really quickly threw this together in Flash.  I really like how things sort of come out really organic in flash and I feel like in terms so freehand drawing it’s easier to handle than Illustrator.  Till next time!

First Amigurmi…You Gotta Start Somewhere

My first Amigurumi project…not a total success…but I learned a lot from it.  I used a Lion Brand Yarn pattern,  and some scrap yarn I had from a very old project.  I don’t think my guy looks like the picture very much, nor does it look feline like at all, but the kitties like it!  It’s a gift for them, and you can see my little Anake the King with the little toy.

Illustration Friday: Equipment

Sometimes the equipment you have just isn’t enough.

I didn’t think I’d have time to think up of something for this week’s Illustration Friday but I really quickly sketched this up right in Flash.  I used to have curly hair before I started straightening it and if I put a brush through it, it only made it worse.  I’m pretty sure I’ve had this expressiong a million times back then while trying to tame it.

Illustration Friday: Fearless

Hailey was never the kind to care what ANYONE thought and was fearless in going for what she wanted!

I’m super late on this post but I wanted to go ahead and put this up!  I wanted to do a little more complicated of an illustration and add a slightly more complex background.  It’s not a crazy complicated one but it was fun making.   I’m probably skipping a week of IF but I’m gonna do something for the next topic!  Again this was done in illustrator but I did a little of recoloring in photoshop…VERY little.

Illustration Friday: Cocoon

EEEPPPP I have one hour before it’s a new Friday!!!!  Here is my little quick illustration for cocoon, nothing too crazy, just something I thought was kind of cute!  Wouldn’t you just love a kitten butterfly landing on your flowers outside your window?  I feel like I sort of made them look like Koala bears mixed with kittens, heck it’s a Eucalyptus tree that they make their cocoons in.  Again this was done in Illustrator.

And Now for Something Different: Sailor Moon Fanart

Sailor Moon Sailor Moon Fanart BG2

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a fanart piece and I don’t think I’ve ever fully colored one before.  So I did one of the super classic, Sailor Moon!  The piece was colored in Flash and the background was made in Photoshop.  I put her in the Sailor Moon R season costume.  I also couldn’t decide which background to put her on, one in space…or one with the water color doily thing, maybe if anyone sees this post they can let me know which one they prefer.

Illustration Friday: Ahead

Gabby was always way ahead of her time!

This is my VERY FIRST Illustration Friday contribution!  I wanted to keep a general style that was different from Candy Mistakes, but in the same sort of tone and feeling.  Any input would be GREAT!  For instance, does it really work for the prompt?  The piece was done completely in Illustrator.

Welcome to Candy Mistakes!

Candy Mistakes First Image

First of all WELCOME TO MY BLOG thanks for visiting!  This piece is the first illustration I created for Candy Mistakes.  I’m still trying to figure out a story for my characters but so far I know that she’s literally a doll, hence the reason for her fingerless hands.  I plan to use this blog to show off Candy Mistakes specific artwork but also a few other things like illustrations done for Illustration Friday.  Thanks again for visiting my blog and I hope you come back!
